Creative Scrappers......

I felt super inspired by Creative Scrappers this past Sunday and used not one, but 2 of their recent sketches.  Up first is a layout documenting my sons first 5K using sketch #223......

On this one I went for a very literal approach to the sketch, not varying from it all.

This next layout uses sketch #222....

For this one, I drew inspiration from one of the design team members and her approach.  Instead of laying out the blocks nice and orderly, I layered them instead.

It was so nice to finish two layouts in two days, especially when I have a growing stack of pictures waiting for their turn to be scrapped--seriously, adding just ONE kid to the family has added tremendously to my scrappy to-do list!  So glad I love this hobby....

Happy Tuesday.

Loving You....

Just a quick post to prove that yes, I am still alive and I am still scrapping :-).  Here's a new layout featuring my awesome four month old daughter Allora.  I still, CANNOT  get enough of her!

At 4 months old this little girl weighs 11 pounds seven ounces, is 24.5 inches tall, and is rolling over both ways!  She smiles all of the time, is grabbing at everything, and has the cutest laugh ever.  Love having a baby in the house!

This Boy....

This boy inspires me.....

Today, he ran his first 5k!

I honestly had tears in my eyes as he ran the last stretch towards the finish line.  I am  super proud of Hayden!

He had originally asked if he could run this annual run that is held in our town during the Mt. Festival and I had said no because he had a scrimmage scheduled for the same morning and thought it best if he save his energy for the game.  However, as soon as he heard the scrimmage was canceled, he began a campaign that would involve me getting all three children out by six in the morning to get to the race.

Somehow, I managed the kiddos and got to cheer my kiddo on!  Loved it and CAN NOT wait to scrap it :-).

Ice Cream for 3.....

Honestly, I think ice cream is a GREAT subject for scrapping!!

These two pictures have been hanging around in my "I am not quite sure what I want to do with these pictures" pile since June of last year.  Glad I finally got around to scrapping them :-).

Have been super slow to post lately.....with summer vacation quickly coming to an end (school starts next Wednesday--aack!), I am enjoying what remains of my "no real schedule" lifestyle.  Which of course means, I can sleep in if I want (and the baby lets me) until seven.  And I don't have to be anywhere at certain times.  It will be a rude awakening next week when I have to be up and dressed and ready to go by seven.  LOL.  Oh well, I have Christmas vacation to look forward too.

The 19th Wife......

I started this on Sunday and just finished a few minutes ago......

The 19th Wife

I LOVED this book.  Loved.  The 19th Wife is a historical saga meets modern day mystery.  And I mean that literally.  You get both a sweeping, epic story set in the nineteenth century and a who-done-it set in the twenty first.  And the author, David Ebershoff,  weaves them together so perfectly that I had a hard time reminding myself this was a work of fiction.

The 19th Wife tells the stories of Jordan Scott, who is searching  for the truth when his mother  (a 19th wife) is accused of murdering his polygamist father and Ann Eliza Young, Brigham Young's 19th wife.   Both stories really explore polygamy and it's consequences in both a historical and modern setting.  Super interesting stuff, especially because the foundation of the novel is based on fact and/or versions of the truth.

Great book.  So great, I am off to Google to do my own research on the topic...
