2 Months....

Happy Friday!  Just had a bit of time to pop in and share one of the two layouts I have finished this week.....

Allora at 2 months has been just a blast.  She talks to me and smiles like crazy :-).  Love having an infant in the house again.

Made this with the new baby girl line from Crate Paper, Little Bo Peep.  Love it all.  Had actually been stalking 2peas waiting for it's arrival.  LOL.

I based this layout off of one by Marcy Penner titled "Love" for a scraplift challenge (again, at 2peas).  Am happy that the layout turned out looking like me---sometimes, in these types of challenges, I stick too close to another's style and I end up not being too happy with it because it doesn't feel like me.

Anyways...have been having so much fun scrapping this week and can't wait to share the next layout I did--it's my new favorite!

I've Got Your Number....

Just returned from five days in Las Vegas and read this while I was there.....

AND I LOVED it!!  This novel was so incredibly funny--laugh outloud funny!   Almost every time I read a Sophie Kinsella book (and I have read EVERY single one she has written) I think of I Love Lucy because her heroines are always getting into insanely bizarre/funny situations that only someone like Lucy could get herself out of. I read this super quick because it was hard to put down--I've Got Your Number is worth reading again!!

On a related note, I have to say that I am so HAPPY to be reading again.  For the last few years, books have been far and in between, but since making it a priority on my to-do list I have felt like more of myself (if that makes sense to anyone but myself!).  I have been an avid reader since age five and it is my FAVORITE hobby.  There is nothing like a great story and to be back into the groove of reading is awesome AND the possiblities are endless.  I am a forever bookworm :-).

This is You....

My sweet daughter Maleia is SO full of energy and life and she has a great sense of humor.  The funniest moments of my day come from her and I am so GRATEFUL for that.  She makes me smile and laugh like no other and she has an uncanny ability to do this at the moments when I most need to.

This is Maleia on Easter, posing for me.  Love it!!

The design of this layout was based off of a layout by Mel Blackburn, which you can see here, for a challenge over at 2peas where we had to scraplift a fellow pea.

Really in love with the Neapolitan line from Dear Lizzy-the colors are so soft and its embellishments make putting together a layout a breeze.  They also go very well with the MME I mixed in.  Especially liking the pinwheels--I can and have made them myself, but it is so nice to have them ready to go.

Well, I have a long day ahead of me featuring a four hour drive with three children on my own, so I must remove myself from the computer :-).

Life is Sweet...

This sweet, sweet baby turned 2 months on Sunday.......

At 2 months she has the biggest, gummiest smiles you could possibly imagine.  She coos like crazy when I have her in my arms.  She weighs 10 pounds and has grown to 22 inches.  She is amazing.

Love you baby Allora.

Game Time...

I will be honest--I have a hard time scrapping boy layouts.  I always struggle with finding the right color combos and this leads to major frustration.  Lately I have resorted to politely asking (more like begging or bribing) my son to change clothes for picture taking (this doesn't work all the time) to make it easier for me to scrap.

Unfortunately, I did not have any say in the color of his Little Leauge Uniform.  Dark green and yellow.  Not too many products featuring that color combo.  (I will admit, during some games I looked longingly at the Angel Uniforms--which is disturbing because that means scrapping is always on my brain!).

Anyways.....last weekend I pulled these pics and challenged myself to find a solution.  And this is what I came up with:

For this layout, I pulled out my October Afternoon stash and started pullling out papers that I thought were masculine friendly.  Then, as I was going through them, I kept going to the combo of sky blue, pine green, and beige when I realized that these colors went really well with the background colors in the pics-the sky, the grass, and the dirt.

I was super pleased with the turn of events and it took the pressure of trying to match colors to clothes off of me.  I will definitely try this again the next time.

Happy scrapping.

11th Hour....

I read this in one day.....

11th Hour (Women's Murder Club Series #11)

Every James Patterson book I have read I have finished in record time--they are notoriously fast reads.  So, if you like a good, fast paced murder mystery, this is the right book.

Super happy to have checked one book off my summer reading list!

My Little Sunshine....

Lately, I have been extremely guilty of by buying clothes for my children that will go well with scrapbook paper--I know, I am wierd!  Now I don't specifically choose something that will go with a specific paper; it's more like I choose lots of color (except for my son--he's not much into color these days).

So of course when I saw this onesie for Allora at Old Navy I popped it into my cart and matched it with some papers :-).

Orange is awesome! Once again, LOVE LOVE Bella Blvd's recent releases.  They are so much fun and are saturated with lots of yummy colors.

Happy Scrapping!

Summer Reading List.....

Yesterday I plunked myself down in front of the computer and picked out some books I want to read this summer....Here's the list:

     11th Hour by James Patterson
Love this series (Women's Murder Club) by Patterson.  They
are incredibly addictive and super quick to read.

I've Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella
Have read ALL of her books, so of course.

Another Piece of My Heart by Jane Green
Haven't read anything by Green in awhile, so excited to pick
    this one up.

Shadow of Night by Deborah Harkness (out 7/10/12)
This is the 2nd installment in A Discovery of Witches series-
    -eagerly awaiting this one.

Where We Belong by Emily Griffin (out 7/24/12)
Griffin is a tough one for me.  I absolutely LOVED Something
Borrowed and Something Blue, but her others haven't hit it
off with me entirely (yes, I have read all of her stuff).  I
think it's because she tackles some tough ideas and they
don't always wrap up into the happily ever after that
I want, BUT I still enjoy them and they toughen me up a
    bit :-).

11th Hour (Women's Murder Club Series #11)    I've Got Your Number    Another Piece of My Heart

Shadow of Night (All Souls Trilogy #2)    Where We Belong

Would LOVE to hear what you are reading this summer!
